About me:
My name is Varun Bakshi, a 12th grader at Dhirubhai Ambani International School, an institution that has instilled in me not just the drive for academic excellence but also the courage to lead with purpose. As a member of the School Student Council (2023-24), where I served as the sports captain, I contributed through leadership and collaboration to foster a positive and inclusive community.
I’ve found my purpose in activism. I’m proud to be a gender rights advocate, working alongside Sunil Jaglan, a man who inspires me every day with his commitment to a safer, more equal world. His fight for the rights of girls and women has given my own efforts deeper meaning. Every story of inequality, every barrier broken, and every step toward change reminds me of the urgent need to challenge these injustices.
Through everything I do—whether it’s in school, in my activism, or out on the track—I hold on to one belief: change starts with us. But it takes courage to act, empathy to understand, and purpose to keep going. I will continue to strive to create a better, more equal, and safe world. It’s not just a goal—it’s a commitment I intend to uphold.
